This is the very first installment of Have A Happy M.U.N.D.A.E.. And from the looks of tonight it will be pretty difficult for the next installment to top this ones. With the line up consists of up and coming and also established singers and songwriters in KL, namely Shelley Leong, Paolo Delfino, Warren Chan, Reza Salleh, Najwa and Broken Scar the cover charge of RM10 is really a bargain compared to the top quality music that was in tonights performers setlists.
Six acts played a 2 round robin sets, Shelley Leong, Paolo Delfino, and Warren Chan goes on the first round Shelley Leong performed her folk sets, Paolo Delfino performed everything but his single "Little Things" which I looked forward to Warren Chan from the group Ferns, in my opinion performed the shortest sets among the three Christmas spirited and new songs from these singer songwriters are abound tonight. Personally my hats off to Shelley and Paolo for their remarkable stage presence.
The final round started and it is up to 3 more performers to close the show Reza Salleh, Najwa and Broken Scar. 2006-2007 has been a good year for the young and talented Reza Salleh as he kept busy with performing and promoting his EP Smoke City. Tonight this rising star melted the hearts of females as usual with his smooth chords. He previewed his new song and also a song off his EP.
Broken Scar came out not as a group but only the frontman Kevin Teh took centerstage tonight, most of his sets were influenced by Goo-Goo Dolls with a tinge of Creed. Kevin did a great job Rocking the crowd and the audience participated well. Rock On Dude!
Najwa was the sole reason I came. Tonight was the second time I watch her perform, she possesses the voice of a Neo Soul songstress, and it just demanded attention everytime she croons. The crowd asked for an encore and these three ended up playing more songs than their original setlists.
Like I said, it will be pretty difficult for the next installment to top this ones.
Have A Happy M.U.N.D.A.E. was one of the sure way to end a dreary monday blues.
